Martin Farmer’s Market a success

Photo by Taylor Risse The first Martin Farmer’s Market was held on Tuesday, June 11, at the Martin City Park. In talking to the vendors and organizer Lana Trantham, the first market was a success. There were three vendors set up: Primal Plains, XS Farms, and Denison Country Farms.

By Jacob Waln Martin Summer Fest is back and has added some more exciting events to the list of things to do this year. The third annual Martin Summer Fest will be held Saturday, June 22, on Main St. This is a yearly event that is hosted by the Oglala Drifters Riding Club.

New superintendent hired for BCSD

Haying season

Haying season has officially begun. Some alfalfa crops are being cut early due to weevils.

Bakley and Scherer advance to General

The 2024 Primary Election was held Tuesday, June 4, with a sad voter turnout. Statewide there was only a 17.09% voter turnout with 101,208 ballots cast out of 591,153 registered voters. In Bennett County the turnout wasn’t much better at 18% with 338 ballots cast out of 1,877 registered voters.
