School board awarded Bronze

The Bennett County School Board of Education was honored at their regular meeting Monday night with an award presented to them by Superintendent Carol Galbraith. They were named as a Bronze Level board by the Associated School Boards of South Dakota.

Do it Best Hardware Store building back Main Street

It’s been a few years since Bennett County had two hardware stores, but that has changed as Martin born and raised Jay Yohner opened up a Do it Best hardware store at 302 Main Street in Martin in mid-July.Do it Best is a franchise that has been serving the do-it-yourselfer since 1945.

Following much consideration and discussion for what is best for the student body, the Bennett County School District Board approved moving Homecoming from Sept. 6 to Sept. 20 during the Aug. 19 regular board meeting.In addition to that change, there will be no school on Sept.
