Greetings, I’m Shandel Anson, but you might also know me as Shawnee Yordy. Since March 11, 2024, I’ve had the honor of serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Bennett County Hospital and Rural Health Clinic.

Mrs. Kaltenbach was awarded the outstanding middle level educator award at the SDAMLE conference this year. Julie has been teaching at Bennett County for 26 years, and has worn many hats through out her time teaching. If something is asked of her, Mrs. Kaltenbach will do it and give her best effort. That is what she has been doing in her 33 total years of teaching.

Good deeds are a good thing

Members of the Saxton family were caught doing a good thing, getting their hands dirty and making our county cleaner. They were picking up trash around the Little White River Project on Easter Sunday. It’s a great reminder to everyone that now is a good time to help clean up around the community.

Primary Election set

The South Dakota Primary Election is set for Tuesday, June 4, with several offices up for election.The Bennett County Commission race has two seats up for election, drawing six candidates, five of them Republicans. The top two in each party advance to the Nov. 5 General Election.
