Bennett County youth wrestlers competed in the District 2 meet held in Hill City on Saturday, March 2. The top 8 wrestlers from each bracket advanced to the region meet which will be held on Saturday, March 9 in Spearfish.

Zack Soderlin, wrestling for Rapid City Central, won the South Dakota High School Class A 157 lb. weight class last weekend in Sioux Falls.Zach dominated his class at the State A Tournament, soundly defeating Chandler Carda of West Central by tech fall, 15-0, in the finals.

The State Wrestling Tournament was held this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Sioux Falls at the Denny Sanford Premier Center. For 7 of our 10 qualifiers, this was their first time experiencing a high school state tournament as a competitor.

Lady Warriors season ends in playoff first round

Fifth seeded Lakota Tech traveled to Martin Feb. 20, for a first round playoff matchup in girls high school basketball against the fourth seeded Bennett County Warriors and the visitors pulled away for a 69-42 win.

On Sunday, February 18th seven middle school students athletes represented Bennett County at the South Dakota Middle School State Championship tournament held in Pierre, South Dakota. There were over 500 athletes competing for a state medal!
