Jeff and Shelly Siscoe met at a church softball game in 1980 where Jeff played on the same team as Shelly’s brothers.
The couple was married on October 3, 1981, in Columbus, Indiana.
Valentine’s Day has an extra special meaning to this couple as that is the day Jeff proposed after they attended a Valentine’s party.
The couple’s first date was to “The Gun Room” where they shot pistols which Shelly added was a favorite thing for both of them to do. Jeff said it was a double date with his cousin and Shelly’s best friend.
There isn’t a yearly ritual for the couple but Shelly mentioned, “Jeff always comes up with something different to make it special.”
Jeff wrote his nickname for Shelly is, “Hey Babe.” When asked “What about your Valentine makes you a better person,” Shelly answered, “Everything! He’s my rock!” Jeff’s response was, “Shelly sometimes has to talk sense into my sorry head.”
Jeff was asked the question, “If your valentine was a flower, what kind of flower would they be?” Jeff replied, “A big bouquet of wild flowers.”
Deciding what their favorite Valentine’s gift is comes to candy and chocolate for Jeff and Shelly said, “I love flowers but he always comes up with something special.”
