By Tim Huether The New Underwood Tigers faced of with the host Bennett County Warriors last Friday night in Martin on Parent’s Night, spoiling the party with a 64-46 win.
Shooter Frederick put the Warriors on top at 6-4 on a three point basket, but the Tigers scored the last eight points of the quarter to lead 12-6 at the buzzer.
The Warriors stayed cold early in the second quarter and the Tigers would lead 206, finishing off a 16-0 run.
Wyatt Huber finally broke the scoring draught to make it 20-8, but the Tigers would go on to lead 32-15 at the half.
The Warriors had a solid offensive third quarter, scoring 20 points, but the Tigers matched them shot for shot and led 54-35 entering the fourth quarter. Shooter Frederick led the Warriors offense with 11 points in the third.
New Underwood would hold the lead in the fourth, winning 64-46.
Caysen Soderlin had a big game with 18 points and many rebounds and Shooter Frederick shot well too, adding 16 points. Wyatt Huber added 6 points, Rush O’Neill 2, Christin Poor Bear 2 and Devon Featherman 2.
In the JV game, the Tigers won big, 48-18. Bennett County was led in scoring by Blair Louden with 8 points, Hayden Risse added 3, Billy Waln 3, Ben Theurer 2 and Camden O’Bryan 2.
