Boys toppled by Marty 90-71

Body

By Tim Huether The Bennett County Warriors played their fifth game in six days and traveling to Marty to play a good Braves team was a tough task.

The Warriors trailed 11-6 early but the wind went out of their sails at that point as the home team Braves were suddenly up 40-6 early in the second quarter.

Shooter Frederick started off a streak of hot shooting, nailing four straight three point shots to make it 48-20 and a basket by Caysen Soderlin put them a basket closer.

The Warriors played the Braves even for the rest of the game but the early hole made it a tough climb back, but give the boys credit, they played hard and better, especially for a team with tired legs.

The final score was 90-71, but take away the bad stretch early, and it was a much closer game.

Frederick had his best game ever making seven three pointers on his way to 36 points.

Caysen Soderlin had a good game too, tossing in 14 points. Devon Featherman added 9 points, Rush O’Neill 6, Wyatt Huber 4, and Christin Poor Bear 2.
