Bennett County Hospital CEO Michael Christensen has resigned from the facility, notifying the staff and board of his decision recently.
“I have accepted a new role outside of South Dakota, and my last day with BCH will be Saturday, February 17, 2024,” said Christensen.
He submitted a letter of his decision in which he shared the following.
I want each of you to know that this decision was not made lightly and is not a reflection of my experience at BCH. It has been an honor to lead BCH these past three years and serve the thousands of patients and family members who have used our services for their primary and emergency healthcare needs.
I am proud of what we have accomplished as a team on behalf of this great community as we pursue the mission of BCH and bring quality healthcare to our region. I am convinced that BCH will continue to be an increasingly powerful force in healthcare around this region and in South Dakota, and the groundwork we have laid while I have been the leader here will last for decades to come and will bring innovative ideas and create pioneering approaches to healthcare in many ways.
