Good deeds are a good thing

Members of the Saxton family were caught doing a good thing, getting their hands dirty and making our county cleaner. They were picking up trash around the Little White River Project on Easter Sunday. It’s a great reminder to everyone that now is a good time to help clean up around the community.

The South Dakota Primary Election is set for Tuesday, June 4, with several offices up for election.The Bennett County Commission race has two seats up for election, drawing six candidates, five of them Republicans. The top two in each party advance to the Nov. 5 General Election.

Rain and snow bring needed moisture

Things were getting a little dry in the region so the moisture over the weekend and Monday was a blessing to farmers and ranchers. About three quarters of an inch of rain fell in many areas Saturday evening into Sunday.

School names Stacy Halverson interim Superintendent

Tuesday afternoon, the Bennett County School Board met in executive session and following the session, moved to hire former superintendent Stacy Halverson as Interim Superintendent effective immediately, with all board members voting in favor of the motion.

Bennett County places 12 at state

It was a great weekend to be a Warrior! The Bennett County youth wrestlers worked hard at the State AAU Meet this past weekend in Rapid City and brought home Girls Tots 46Avery Toczek placed 3rd and scored 22.5 team points.Champ.
