Dane and Kim Claussen met in Kindergarten, by the Boyscout building Kim added.
The couple was married in Tuthill, S.D. on September 3, 1977.
Dane wrote that a special Valentine’s Day memory was buying flowers for the first time.
Their first date was to a movie in Martin. The couple agreed that their Valentine’s Day ritual consists of going out to dinner unless they aren’t working a basketball game of course!
Nicknames the couple share are “Honey” for Dane and he calls Kim “Honey” or “Dear”.
When asked “What about your Valentine makes you a better person,” Kim wrote, “We compliment each other in our weaknesses.”
Answering the question of what would you rather have candy, flowers, or other for Valentine’s Day, Kim stated she’d like a nice dinner and Dane prefers the candy.
Kim added that their first kiss was on April 24, 1975, that same night the roof blew off their house and that their song is “Color My World” by Chicago, “Just ask him, he knows!”
