Photo by Taylor Risse The snowflakes were hung on the light poles with care, in hopes that Christmas would soon be there! Christmas is fast approaching and the Lacreek Electric crew helped Martin get ready for the Christmas season as they hung the snowflakes on Wednesday.
The scene has been set for a perfect Christmas season. Lacreek Electric hung up snowflakes and lights, a layer of snow covered the ground, there is Christmas in the air!
Forecast reports show cool Christmas weather for the weekend but sunny skies. Be sure to dress warm for your day in Martin!
Start the weekend off by stopping at the courthouse on Friday to peruse the Festival of Trees during normal business hours. Lining the hallways are several trees in various shapes, sizes and colors displaying a variety of creative ornaments.
The Craft Fair at the American Legion Auditorium from 10 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, promises to be a must-do event.
Plan to stop by! Browse, support these vendors, get an early start on your Christmas shopping and enjoy finding those perfect goodies!
Shopping local is what keeps our small community thriving!
Be sure to hang around the craft fair to catch a glimpse of Santa as he makes his season debut at 3 p.m. to visit with all the girls and boys.
Before you head home for the night, remember to grab a spot along main street and watch the Parade of Lights which will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday night.
Parade entries will line up on State Street (north of the courthouse) facing east and then go down main street towards the west, turn around to come back up main street, and then go to the stop light. Float entries are asked to have your business/group name illuminated so those watching know who is who.
We have reports that Santa will be attending the parade so please make sure there are no imposters on your floats!
End the evening with a nice family outing or a date night for you and your someone special, at the New American Legion for the Sons of the American Legion steak night.
Bring the family for a weekend full of small town Christmas fun!
