There will be a meeting of the Bennett County Natural Hazard Mitigation Feb. 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Martin Volunteer Fire Dept. Station.
This meeting about natural hazard mitigation in Bennett County is open to the public.
Discussion will revolve around topics such as identifying hazards, assessing risks, defining mitigation projects and implementation methods.
Mitigation Planning aims to reduce the loss of life, property, and infrastructure by lessening the impacts of natural disasters. To help minimize the impact of natural hazards throughout the county, this plan focuses on a proactive approach, rather than reactive.
