Eight juniors and seniors from BCHS-JAG, (Jobs for America’s Graduates) braved the dense interstate fog on Thursday, January 25, with Specialist Cindy Knecht, for a tour of Mitchell Technical College. After a brief welcome, the students were ushered to the sessions of their choosing, which included: welding, electrical, construction, medical laboratories, accounting, diesel power, automotive, culinary arts, plus many more. Several of our students showed their skills during hands-on activities, while others toured classrooms, labs, trade centers and training facilities.
BCHS students also learned about the admission process, financial aid, college apartments and possible class schedules. The day was topped off with door prizes, the biggest going to Neil Hicks Jr., who walked away with a $1000 scholarship, redeemable if he chooses to attend Mitchell Tech after he graduates.
