Volleyball: Lady Warriors lose championship to Pine Ridge

The BCHS Lady Warriors ended the season with a win against Little Wound in the District semi-finals and a loss to Pine Ridge in the championship, finishing the season with 12 wins 20 losses.

We started pretty shaky against the Mustangs, dropping the first game 21-25, but the girls kept their heads up and fought back 25-15, 26-24, 15-25, 15-6. Taylor was 39/45 hitting with 13 kills, 1/1 digging and had 3 solo blocks. Megan W. was 3/3 setting with 2 kill sets, 13/14 serving with 2 aces, 21/24 hitting with 6 kills, 2/3 receiving, 5/6 digging and had one assisted block.

Brooke was 1/1 setting, 8/11 serving with 2 aces, 27/34 hitting with 6 kills, 19/20 receiving and 26/30 digging. Megan S. was 11/12 serving with one ace, 5/6 hitting with 2 kills, 24/28 receiving and 23/32 digging. Rebecca was 58/65 setting with 23 kill assists, 16/16 serving, 13/18 hitting with 3 kills, 6/8 receiving and 22/28 digging. Shayla was 37/46 setting with 9 kill assists, 26/26 serving with 3 aces, 6/6 hitting with one kill, 3/5 receiving and 12/14 digging. Roseanna was 1/1 setting, and had one dig. Noelle was 4/5 setting with one kill set, 23/24 serving with 3 aces, 18/25 hitting with 7 kills, 13/16 receiving and 16/18 digging. Bobbi was 16/17 setting with 6 kill sets, 16/19 hitting with 4 kills, 6/7 digging and had one assisted block. Tamee was 2/2 setting and 1/1 receiving.

The Warriors came out fired up and won the first set against the Thorpes, 25-20, but Pine Ridge’s defense was too strong; we couldn’t get many kills through. We knew we had to play error-free, and the Thorpes just played everything back. We won a lot of the long rallies and that usually is a good sign, but, in the end, they dug our hits and we couldn’t dig theirs. BC went on to loose the next three sets 17-25, 18-25, 15-25.

Taylor was 4/5 setting with one kill set, 21/22 hitting with 2 kills, 1/1 receiving and had one solo and 4 assisted blocks. Megan W. was 2/2 setting, 12/12 serving with 3 aces, 16/22 hitting with 4 kills, 2/2 receiving, 1/1 digging and had one solo and one assisted block. Brooke was 2/2 setting, 15/18 serving with 2 aces, 19/25 hitting with 4 kills, 31/33 receiving, 4/5 digging and had one assisted block. Megan S. was 8/8 setting with one kill set, 13/16 serving with 2 aces, 6/8 hitting with one kill, 22/25 receiving and 8/11 digging.

Rebecca was 70/72 setting with 10 kill assists, 11/11 serving, 5/5 hitting with 2 kills, 1/1 receiving and 1/3 digging. Shayla was 22/23 setting with 5 kill assists, 2/5 serving, 2/2 hitting with one kill, 1/1 receiving and 5/8 digging. Roseanna was 1/1 setting, 2/3 serving, 1/1 receiving and 1/2 digging. Noelle was 3/3 setting, 7/7 serving, 14/17 hitting with one kill, 19/19 receiving, 2/6 digging and had one assisted block. Bobbi was 8/10 setting with 3 kill assists, 21/25 hitting with 5 kills and had 3 assisted blocks. Tamee was 4/4 setting, 1/1 hitting and had one dig.
