Bennett County ended their four game winning streak Saturday, October 15, at the Douglas Invitational Volleyball Tournament. The girls seem to have developed a habit of letting the other team get five to ten points before they start playing. In both sets against Philip, BC was down considerably before coming back to tie it up.
In the Warrior’s first round for pool play, they lost to Philip 17-25, 19-25. Taylor was 2/2 setting with one kill assist and 10/11 hitting with 5 kills. Megan W. was 1/1 setting, 4/5 serving, 11/12 hitting with 2 kills, had 4 digs and one solo block. Brooke was 2/2 setting, 4/6 serving with one ace, 8/12 hitting with 3 kills, 4/4 receiving, had 14 digs and one solo block. Megan S. was 3/3 setting, 1/1 serving, 14/16 receiving and had 11 digs. Rebecca was 23/23 setting with 7 kill assists, 2/3 serving, 7/8 hitting with 3 kills, 5/5 receiving and had one dig. Shayla was 13/14 setting with 5 kill assists, 1/2 receiving and 1/1 hitting with one kill. Roseanna was 1/1 setting with one kill set, 4/4 serving with one ace, 6/6 hitting with 2 kills, 3/5 receiving and had 5 digs. Lindsay was 4/5 serving with one ace, 5/5 receiving and had 3 digs. Bobbi was 12/14 setting with 4 kill assists, 12/12 hitting with 2 kills and had one dig.
Next in pool play, the Ladies played Douglas and lost 25-27, 15-25. Taylor was 1/1 setting with one kill assist, 6/6 serving, 20/21 hitting with 5 kills, had 4 digs and one assisted block. Megan W. was 2/2 setting, 12/12 serving and had 7 digs. Brooke was 3/3 setting, 3/5 serving with one ace, 7/10 hitting with 3 kills, 15/16 receiving and had 15 digs. Megan S. was 1/1 setting, 6/8 receiving 2/2 hitting with 2 kills, 10/10 receiving and had 9 digs. Rebecca was 27/28 setting with 8 kill assists, 6/7 receiving, 6/9 hitting with one kill, 1/1 receiving and had 2 digs. Shayla was 21/22 setting with 5 kill assists, 2/3 serving, 1/1 hitting, 5/6 receiving and had 3 digs. Roseanna was 1/1 setting, 4/4 serving with one ace, 4/5 hitting, 1/1 receiving and had one dig. Bobbi was 4/4 setting with 2 kill sets, 6/6 hitting with 2 kills, had one dig, one solo and one assisted block.
In bracket play, BC met up with Rapid City Christian, beating the Comets 26-24, 26-24. Taylor was 7/7 serving with one ace, 13/16 hitting with 5 kills and had one dig. Megan W. was 1/1 setting, 6/6 serving, 12/13 hitting with 3 kills, 6/6 receiving and had 11 digs. Brooke was 1/1 setting, 4/7 serving with 2 aces, 7/9 hitting with 3 kills, 12/13 receiving and had 8 digs. Shiann was 2/4 hitting. Megan S. was 5/5 serving with 2 aces, 1/1 hitting, 13/13 receiving and had 9 digs. Rebecca was 20/21 setting with 9 kill assists, 3/5 serving, 6/7 hitting, 2/3 receiving and had 3 digs. Shayla was 18/19 setting with 5 kill assists, 5/7 serving with 2 aces, 1/1 hitting and had 9 digs. Roseanna was 8/9 serving with 4 aces, 3/6 hitting with 3 kills and had one dig. Tamee was 9/9 setting with 4 kill assists, 3/3 serving with 2 aces, 1/1 hitting, 1/1 receiving and had 2 digs. Bobbi was 4/4 setting with one kill assist, 8/9 hitting with 5 kills and had 3 digs.
For the bracket championship, the Warriors took on Red Cloud. The Crusader’s defense just kept our ladies from posting the win. BC lost 22-25, 21-25. Taylor was 3/3 serving with one ace and 12/14 hitting with 4 kills. Megan W. was 4/5 setting, 6/6 serving with 2 aces, 19/20 hitting with one kill, 7/10 receiving and had 4 digs. Brooke was 5/5 setting with one kill assist, 6/6 serving with 2 aces, 9/13 hitting with 2 kills and had 13 digs. Megan S. was 6/9 serving with 2 aces, 10/12 receiving and had 13 digs. Rebecca was 18/21 setting with 5 kill assists, 4/4 serving with one ace, 7/7 hitting, 7/8 receiving and had 3 digs. Shayla was 34/34 setting with 4 kill assists, 8/10 serving with 2 aces, 2/3 hitting, 1/1 receiving and had 9 digs. Roseanna was 3/3 serving, 6/7 hitting with one kill, 2/2 receiving and had 5 digs. Bobbi was 2/5 setting with one kill set and 7/8 hitting with 3 kills.
The Warriors record has moved to 10 wins, 18 losses.
