The Lady Warriors went on the road Saturday, September 24, to Belle Fourche for tournament action, finishing 2-3 on the day. Overall, the Ladies played well, but lost two matches to the, so far, undefeated Belle Fouche Broncs who ended up winning the tournament. Bennett County finished 8th out of 12 teams.

In the first match of pool play, the Warriors upended Hill City 25-11, 25-27, 25-12. Once their passes got where they needed to be, they started hitting well. Taylor was 15/16 hitting with 5 kills and had 3 assisted blocks. Megan W. was 5/7 serving with one ace, 9/9 hitting with 3 kills, 9/11 receiving, had 6 digs and one assisted block. Brooke was 11/13 serving with 5 aces, 13/15 with 8 kills, 1/3 receiving, one dig and one assisted block. Megan S. was 1/1 setting, 15/15 serving with 5 aces, 3/3 receiving and had 2 digs. Rebecca was 23/25 setting with 13 kill assists, 9/11 serving with 2 aces, 8/8 hitting with 3 kills, 1/1 receiving and had one dig.

Shayla was 22/23 setting with 9 kill assists, 12/13 serving with 3 aces, 2/2 hitting with one kill and had one dig. Kalee was 1/1 setting, 1/1 hitting and had one dig. Roseanna was 1/1 setting with one kill set, 1/1 hitting with one kill, 1/1 receiving and had one dig. Noelle was 13/14 serving, 15/16 hitting with 7 kills, 2/3 receiving and had 2 digs. Lindsay was 1/1 serving and 1/1 receiving. Bobbi was 4/5 setting with 2 kill assists, 2/2 hitting, had one dig, one solo and one assisted block.

The second round of pool play pitted the Warriors against Upton, Wyo. It was a winnable game but they made too many errors with their passes and hits. The Ladies lost 21-25, 20-25. Taylor was 2/3 setting and 15/17 hitting with 6 kills. Megan W. was 8/8 serving, 10/11 hitting with one kill, 4/7 receiving, and had 2 digs. Brooke was 1/1 setting, 10/11 serving, 5/13 hitting with 3 kills and had 7 digs. Megan S. was 8/8 serving with one ace, 1/1 hitting, 2/2 receiving and had 5 digs.

Rebecca was 24/24 setting with 4 kill assists, 3/3 serving with one ace, 1/2 hitting with one kill, 1/1 receiving and had 3 digs. Shayla was 24/24 setting with 4 kill assists, 8/8 serving, 2/2 hitting with one kill and had one dig. Noelle was 4/4 serving and 13/14 hitting with 6 kills. Bobbi was 8/8 setting with one kill set and 5/5 hitting with one kill.
Next, BC played Belle Fourche and the Warriors could not get an offense going and lost 7-25, 16-25. Again, they made too many errors and didn’t connect for many kills or aces. Taylor was 6/7 hitting with 2 kills. Megan W. was 4/5 serving, 3/3 hitting with one kill, 1/2 receiving and had 4 digs. Brooke was 1/1 setting with one kill set, 2/4 serving with one ace, 4/10 hitting, 1/2 receiving and had 4 digs. Megan S. was 3/4 serving, 3/4 hitting, 1/1 receiving and had 4 digs. Rebecca was 13/13 setting with 4 kill assists, 5/5 serving with one ace, 1/3 hitting and had 4 digs.

Shayla was 15/15 setting with 2 kill assists, 5/5 serving with one ace, 1/1 hitting and had one dig. Roseanna was 1/1 receiving and 2/2 hitting with one kill. Bobbi was 8/8 setting with one kill set and 2/2 hitting with one kill. Tamee was 5/6 setting with one kill set and had one dig.

After pool-play ended, the top two teams with the best records went into the bracket, Bennett County went head-to-head with Newell for a wildcard slot in the bracket. The Warriors sat for over two hours waiting to see if we had a shot at the wildcard, and were a bit sluggish as a result. It took a while but they pulled out a win 27-25, 25-12. Taylor was 1/1 setting, 14/16 hitting with 9 kills and had 2 solo blocks. Megan W. was 8/8 serving, 5/7 hitting with one kill, 3/4 receiving and had 5 digs. Brooke was 2/2 setting, 6/7 serving, 4/5 hitting with one kill, 2/2 receiving and had 9 digs.

Megan S. was 9/9 serving with one ace, 5/5 receiving and had 4 digs. Rebecca was 25/25 setting with 8 kill assists, 8/9 serving, 5/5 hitting with one kill, 3/4 receiving and had 3 digs. Shayla was 21/21 setting with 6 kill assists, 4/5 serving, 3/3 hitting with one kill, 1/2 receiving and had one dig. Noelle was 11/12 serving with one ace, 7/11 hitting with 4 kills, 3/3 receiving and had 4 digs. Bobbi was 5/5 setting with 2 kill sets and 4/5 hitting with one kill.

Unfortunately, the wildcard team plays the top-seed, so the Ladies found themselves across the net from Belle Fourche once again. BC worked hard to make improvements, and did not get down against a tough team - they were even tied 12-12 at one point. Ultimately though, the Warriors fell 15-25, 16-25. Taylor was 9/10 hitting with 3 kills and had one solo block. Megan W. was 1/1 setting, 9/9 serving, 4/6 hitting with 2 kills, 8/14 receiving, had 4 digs and one solo block. Brooke was 1/1 setting with one kill assist, 5/5 serving, 9/9 hitting with 2 kills, 3/6 receiving and had 8 digs. Megan S. was 1/1 setting, 4/6 serving with one ace and had 5 digs. Rebecca was 25/26 setting with 5 kill assists, 2/2 serving, 1/1 hitting, 2/4 receiving and had 7 digs. Noelle was 7/7 serving, 2/3 hitting with one kill, 4/6 receiving and had 4 digs. Bobbie was 9/9 setting with 4 kill assists, 4/6 hitting with one kill and had one dig.
