»Girls end regular season with two wins

Bennett County wrapped up the regular season with a pair of wins, defeating Cody Kilgore 38-29 Feb. 12 and knocking off a good Kadoka team, 35-32 Feb. 17.
Kadoka jumped to a 13-6 lead after one quarter, but Bennett County played solid defense and held the Lady Kougars scoreless in the second to take control of the game with a 19-13 lead at the break.
Kadoka closed the gap to three after three quarters for a 24-21 score, but Bennett County held on for the road win, ending the season on a positive note and with an 11-9 record. They traveled to Todd County to play the Lady Falcons in round one of the Districts Tuesday, Feb. 22. The results will be posted on our website: bennettcountyboostersd.com.
Laura Hodson and Abbie Alexander led the Lady Warriors with 10 points each. Harriet Standing Soldier added 9, Kaitlyn Rayhill 4, and Megan Slattery 2 points.
Kadoka fell to 13-6 and was led by Tess Byrd with a game high 14 points.
Kadoka won the JV game 28-14 with a host of Warriors getting in the books with two points each, including Lindsay Johnson, Rebecca Vander May, Cassy Ward, Megan Slattery, Rayel Livermont and Bobbi Standing Soldier. Megan Winter and Taryn Lessert had one point each.
At Cody, Bennett County toppled the Lady Cowgirls 38-29 Feb. 12.
Tania Risse led the offense with 11 points followed by Abbie Alexander with 10, Harriet Standing Soldier 7, Brooke Bair 6, Laura Hodson 4.
In the JV game, Cody-Kilgore won 10-8 in a two quarter game. Megan Slattery scored seven of the eight Warrior points and Bobbi Standing Soldier scored the other point.
