Pine Ridge thumps Lady Warriors 59-25

Pine Ridge put a 59-25 thumping on the Bennett County Lady Warriors Feb. 3 in Pine Ridge in girls high school basketball action.
It was just a two point game after one quarter with Pine Ridge leading 6-4 in a low scoring start.
Pine Ridge found the nets more friendly in the second quarter, exploding for 19 points, but Bennett County struggled and managed just five in the frame, putting the Thorpes on top 25-9 at the break.
Pine Ridge scored 34 second half points to just 16 for Bennett County, ending in a blowout win for the Lady Thorpes, 59-25.
Brooke Pond had a strong game for Pine Ridge with 18 and Bekka Ten Fingers added 13.
Bennett County had four players with four points; Brooke Bair, Laura Hodson, Taryn Lessert and Rayel Livermont. Abbie Alexander, Tania Risse, Megan Slattery and Kaitlyn Rayhill added 2 points and Harriet Standing Soldier finished with 1.
Bennett County won the JV game, 42-40, using a 17 point fourth quarter to rally from 12 points down after three quarters. Rayel Livermont led the charge with 20 points, 10 in the fourth for Bennett County.
Scoring: Rayel Livermont 20, Megan Winter 7, Rebecca Vander May 7, Bobbi Standing Soldier 4, Taryn Lessert 2, Megan Slattery 1 and Sabrina Fanning 1.

Lady Warriors rally to nip Badgers 35-34

Bennett County trailed Valentine 32-20 heading into the final quarter Saturday in girls high school basketball, but Badgers 15-2 in the fourth for a 35-34 road win.
Warrior senior Laura Hodson got hot down the stretch, scoring eight of her game high 13 points in the final quarter. Tania Risse added four and Brooke Bair three points in the fourth for Bennett County. Valentine led all the way until the final seconds of the game, leading 7-3 after one, 19-12 after two and 32-20 after three. Bennett County nearly matched their total from the first three quarters in the fourth.
Scoring for Bennett County: Laura Hodson 13, Harriet Standing Soldier 9, Tania Risse 6, Abbie Alexander 4, Brooke Bair 3.
Valentine won the JV game 53-40, using a strong start to put the Lady Warriors down early with a 19-8 score after one. The Badgers were up 34-19 at the half and 45-24 after the third.
Scoring for Bennett County: Megan Slattery 12, Rayel Livermont 12, Taryn Lessert 5, Rebecca Vander May 4, Kalee Kratovil 3, Lindsay Johnson 2 and Sabrina Fanning 2.

BC vs Jones Co. JV results:

Bennett County topped Jones County 38-32 in JV Jan. 29. Bennett County led the entire first half, but the Lady Coyotes rallied to take a 28-26 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Bennett County’s defense held Jones County to just four fourth quarter points while putting up 12 to take the 38-32 win in Murdo. Rayel Livermont scored seven fourth quarter points to lead the way down the stretch.
