Business is blooming in Martin with the addition of the Frosted Petal to the streets of town.
Owners Andrea Fanning and Chaney Schofield have opened a full service floral and gift shop to service the Bennett County area and beyond and are adding a bakery soon.
“We’re really excited about getting the business going” said Schofield. “There has been a need for a flower shop and we hope the community likes what we have to offer. We’re hoping we can mix providing a good business to the community and still having time for our families.”
“It’s been fun and exciting getting to this point, and now we’re up and going,” said Fanning. “In the next week or two we’ll have our bakery going and even more things. I’m looking forward to being able to bake for more than just my family everyday.”
Fanning said she learned to bake from her grandma Huffman and enjoys it.
The store will feature fresh flowers, live plants, balloons, balloon bouquets, candy bouquets, plush stuffed animals and many gift items to go with floral arrangements.
They specialize in flower arrangements and cakes for birthdays, weddings, funerals and more.
Their bakery will have cakes for all occasions, cupcakes, cookies, caramel and cinnamon rolls and basic baked goods. Down the road, they also plan to have donuts.
They will have different daily specials featuring things like coffee cake, creampuffs and others.
They will have Dark Canyon coffee, hot chocolate and other drinks and seating to enjoy your beverage at the store.
Montana Silver is one of the specialty gifts for sale and unique jewelry, including some made by Shae Risse.
They have a tux rental service and make corsages for those looking to make an impression, especially at prom time.
In the future, they will be providing catering service and possibly a spring greenhouse.
The new owners invited everyone to stop by and see the store and say hello.
Their hours are 9-5:30, Monday - Friday and they are located at 106 State Street in Martin. They may be reached by calling 685-2253 (BAKE).
