Bennett County netted a win over Kadoka in high school volleyball Sept. 28 in Martin, winning three games to one, 25-22, 25-20, 19-25, 25-21.
Bennett County jumped to a big lead in the first game on the strength of Brooke Bair’s serving. With the Lady Warriors leading 7-6, Bair’s hard serve and good team play boosted the lead to eight points at 14-6.
Kadoka would not go away and climbed back in the game at 18-44, 20-17, and eventually tied the game at 22. Bennett County settled in and scored the final three points of the game for the 25-22 win.
Kadoka took an 8-4 lead in game two before Bennett County found their groove. Trailing 7-9, Bennett County scored five unanswered points to jump ahead, 12-9.
The game was tied at 17 and that is when Bennett County shifted gears and out-scored the Kougars 8-1 down the stretch for the 25-18 win.
Game three looked like a run away for the Warriors, leading 16-7, but Kadoka capitalized on numerous Warrior misplays to rally for a 25-19 win.
In game four, Bennett County held on for a hard fought 25-21 win.
In Saturday’s game, the Bennett County Warriors volleyball team defeated the host Jones County Coyotes 3-0.
Bennett County will face Gordon/Rushville Thursday night in Martin with game time set for 5 p.m., but subject to change.
