Bennett County’s Shooting Sports sessions for the 2011-2012 4-H year are in full swing. Participation is at a high level for this popular activity.
Tom Sterkel, Gary Rayhill, Dave Bakley, Scott Huber, and Chad Kratovil continue as Shooting Sports instructors this year. Extension Educator Nancy Pauly also assists with all aspects of the events.
Shooting Sports is also seeking adults to volunteer as line coaches this shooting sports season, as well as volunteers willing to become certified instructors. Interest in Shooting Sports has been growing exponentially.
In order to participate in the County Shoot at the Bennett County Fair in 2012, 4-H members must:
1. Be enrolled in the Shooting Sports sessions and have paid their dues per discipline.
2. Have passed the safety exam for every discipline they intend to shoot in.
3. Have attended 5 Shooting Sports sessions, in the discipline(s) they intend to shoot in, between January and April 2012.
Parents of BB gun participants are reminded to attend with their child for assistance with safety issues.
